Message from the Mayor

After the trauma of last year's earthquake it's good to be celebrating something and Selwyn has a lot to celebrate.

Celebrating Selwyn is knowing who we are and where we live, from the hills to the sea. During this celebration we have a special opportunity to celebrate our people's achievements and skills.

It is a special opportunity to recognise our arts, culture, industry, crafts, education and heritage, and its richness and diversity with special exhibitions and performances. It is a unique opportunity to visit studios, heritage houses, gardens, restaurants, walkways and other special places, and to view artists and crafts people at work.

Celebrating Selwyn is when our district shows off its best. It is for all to experience and enjoy.

Celebrating Selwyn is supported by the two local Arts Councils and many volunteers from throughout the district. I congratulate them and urge you all to be part of Celebrating Selwyn.

Exhibition

MIKE GLOVER hosts "the quiet earth"

Mike's Studio and workshop are the venue for "The Quiet Earth", an exhibition by six Canterbury artists. On show will be paintings by Robyn Schroeder, Maxine Burney, Blanche Fryer, Mike Glover; photography by Darryl Gilbert and sculpture by David Lloyd. Original artworks, prints and cards for sale. Come along and enjoy this varied and interesting exhibition. All welcome.
